9898 Toll-Free Mental Health Hotline
Free, confidential support from any phone in Liberia, 24 hours a day. Liberia's largest mental health helpline, open since 2021.
Purpose
The hotline is the front door to our whole system. It removes the cost and distance that keep most Liberians from care: a call to 9898 is free from any mobile or landline network.
Who it is for
- Anyone in Liberia in emotional distress or crisis
- People worried about a family member or friend
- Survivors of gender-based or domestic violence
- Callers elsewhere in Africa, 7 AM–6 PM, through the Pan-African Mental Health Hotline

- Listening and emotional support
- Crisis intervention and psychological first aid
- Safety planning
- Information about mental health
- Warm referral to onward services, with follow-up
